Every week, I hold a JOURNAL CLUB. After manually filtering through the millions of articles out there on the web, I present a few that impacted my life this week, so you don't have to.
Here’s our Journal Club for the week. Be safe and stay well!
- The life of a physician is rarely easy, especially not in today's world and our current environment. It's already easy to experience physician burnout when there isn't a global pandemic that continues to be on the rise, so imagine how quickly a physician can experience burnout at the moment. Many doctor's are out there risking their lives for others right now, but it's important that they don't forget to take care of themselves, too. The Physician Philosopher's post about practical tips for finding contentment may be useful to read again, given the current circumstances.
- We have all probably heard of the term social distancing more times in the last few months than we have in our entire lifetimes. But, what exactly is social distancing? Are we practicing it correctly, and enough to accomplish the goal of it? Here's a take on social distancing, what it actually means, and how we should be practicing social loving, on the Kevin MD blog.
- We recently put out this blog post about how to get started in telemedicine. It's been around for a while, but has recently become more common due to encouraged and mandated social distancing. However, telemedicine may not be for everyone. Take a look at these alternatives to telemedicine for doctors from Look for Zebras.
- We are living in strange times, and pandemic uncertainty is certainly affecting the financial world right now. The Hippocratic Hustle Podcast speaks on the economics of COVID-19. Topics include investing during COVID-19, refinancing student loans at record low rates, offsetting financial losses during this time period, and more.
A little bit of motivation below. Enjoy and have a great weekend!
