Here's Journal Club 09-16-22! Every week, I hold a JOURNAL CLUB. After filtering through the articles on the web, I present a few that impacted my life this week. Be safe and stay well!
- Are more and more physicians and medical staff quitting medicine to pursue alternative careers, or are we imagining all this? If you’re shaking your head in agreement, then that poses a bigger question – why is this happening? The Physician on FIRE takes a closer look at the underlying issues behind this trend and what this means for our healthcare system in the article – Why It Seems Like All Doctors Are Quitting Medicine.
- It takes a great deal of courage to admit the mistakes we have made along the way. In fact, our mistakes have helped shape us into what we are today. And if we can support others by talking about our mistakes, then it’s certainly worth doing it. Would you agree? The Wealthy Doc has similar views and shares more about it in the article – My Money Mistakes.
- If you’re an investor, it’s natural to have the curiosity to know how your investments are performing, or better yet, how your investments are performing against other investors. But is that the right approach, and should you be doing that? The Wall Street Physician shares their take on the subject and explains how doing so could be counterproductive in the article – Don’t Compare Your Investment Returns With Others (Especially On The Internet).
- Did you know that physicians are eligible for something known as the “doctor loan or physician loan” offered by the banks? Are you interested in learning more about it and how it works? The Investing Doc covers all about this loan and shares their personal experience using it in the article – Truist And My Doctor Loan Nightmare. Check it out.
That's all for this week! I hope this week's journal club was helpful.
