Here's Journal Club 11/13/20! Every week, I hold a JOURNAL CLUB. After filtering through the articles on the web, I present a few that impacted my life this week. Be safe and stay well!

  • Did you know that personal finance and weight loss go hand-in-hand? Well, they do for Physician on Fire, anyway. In this article, he takes some of the principles he used to lose 10 pounds and applies them to personal finance in ways you may not have previously considered.
  • It’s great to dream big and create lofty goals for yourself. The only potential downside is that sometimes, our dreams for the future can eclipse our life in the moment. In this article, the Darwinian Doctor discusses how we can practice contentment in the present while still pursuing the future.
  • It’s an age-old question: should you pay off debt or invest? You’ve probably heard differing opinions from just about everyone. But this article from the Simple Dollar lays it out in a very straightforward way, and discusses just how to proceed based on your personal situation.
  • The BRRRR method is a great way to build your real estate investment portfolio. Traditionally, this method is used on relatively inexpensive properties in ideal or up-and-coming markets. In this article from Bigger Pockets, the author describes how some investors have discovered how to use this method for great returns–even in major cities and relatively high cost. If you have the capital, this is a very intriguing idea.

That’s it for this week! I hope Journal Club 11/13/20 was helpful to you.

Lastly, here's a little bit of motivation below. Enjoy and have a great weekend!
