Here's Journal Club 2/12/21! Every week, I hold a JOURNAL CLUB. After filtering through the articles on the web, I present a few that impacted my life this week. Be safe and stay well!
- Continuing a series that compares the world of finance to the seven deadly sins, XRAYVSN tackles Envy in this recent post. It’s a very common trap to fall into, especially with the culture of keeping up with the Joneses. Fortunately, XRAYVSN gives some great insight into how to overcome this particular financial pitfall.
- “Financial independence” is a term that gets thrown around a lot, and there’s a lot of hypotheticals involved. But if you’d like to see some cold, hard numbers, then The Darwinian Doctor has just the post for you. In it, he shows how he was able to shave five years off his retirement goal–complete with plenty of graphs, charts and tables.
- In this post from Retire Before Dad, the author brings up what he calls “the mortgage dilemma.” He posits that housing, including a mortgage, is one of three major obstacles most people encounter when striving for financial freedom. How can you balance a mortgage so that it doesn’t become oppressive? Well, to find out, you’ll just have to read it!
- With the pandemic likely not going away for a little while, many people are wondering just how real estate will be affected (or continue being affected) in 2021. This post from Bigger Pockets makes a few predictions. Whether they come true or not, it’s always good to be aware of the possibilities.
That’s it for this week! I hope Journal Club 2/12/21 was helpful to you.
Lastly, here's a little bit of motivation below. Enjoy and have a great weekend!
