Here's Journal Club 11/20/20! Every week, I hold a JOURNAL CLUB. After filtering through the articles on the web, I present a few that impacted my life this week. Be safe and stay well!
- For some, the allure of the FIRE movement doesn’t come solely from the freedom and flexibility it brings. In this article from The Darwinian Doctor, the author describes how FIRE allowed him to experience a “transition of identity and self-confidence”–a solution to a self-described mid-life crisis. For some extra motivation, be sure to give this one a read.
- If you’ve entertained the idea of real estate investing, but hate the idea of being a landlord, then this article from the Prudent Plastic Surgeon has just the solution for you. The author describes a hybrid approach to property ownership, and how he’s been able to automate just about everything while still working full time.
- One common question comes from those who have mortgages on their home: is it better to pay off the mortgage as soon as possible, or to invest that money instead? Opinions vary wildly, but in this post from Financial Success MD, the author makes a thoughtful case for their point of view. If you’ve pondered this question yourself, this post just might help.
- It goes without saying that real estate investing, as with any form of investing, is not without risk. However, there are ways to mitigate that risk. In this article from XRAYVSN, the author shares just how he’s been able to reduce risk–even in the midst of a pandemic.
That’s it for this week! I hope Journal Club 11/20/20 was helpful to you.
Lastly, here's a little bit of motivation below. Enjoy and have a great weekend!
