Here's Journal Club 12/25/20! Every week, I hold a JOURNAL CLUB. After filtering through the articles on the web, I present a few that impacted my life this week. Be safe and stay well!

  • Love it or hate it, the FIRE movement (Financial Independence, Retire Early) is here to stay. Personally, as you might have guessed, I think that the idea of financial independence is great–no matter the time frame. But there are still a lot of misconceptions about this idea. This article from Get Rich Slowly breaks down some of these myths and what FIRE really is.
  • When it comes to financial independence, this article from The Debt-Free Doctor posits that there are basically two ways to achieve it: live below your means–or expand those means. Which is better? Well, I have my ideas, but this article explains it very well.
  • Diversification: arguably the most important thing you can do with your investments. We all know that we shouldn’t put all our eggs in a single basket, but sometimes the tricky part is knowing exactly how to diversify. This article from Financial Samurai will give you some lesser-known, but excellent, ideas.
  • Most of us are ready to put 2020 well behind us. But many more are wondering: will 2021 be any better? Well, Mr. Money Mustache thinks so. In this article, he explains quite a few trends that indicate that 2021 will not only be better, it may be your best year yet.

That’s it for this week! I hope Journal Club 12/25/20 was helpful to you.

Lastly, here's a little bit of motivation below. Enjoy and have a great weekend!
